a tangible sign

11 09 2012

Sometimes in ministry what you want is a tangible sign. Something to see, or to count, something so unequivocally factual you could walk into it.

I am pleased to announce we have had a tangible sign of the Lord’s presence here in St Helier. Ok, it’s not quite the incarnation. Or an angelic host. Or even a leg being made longer.

To be fair, it’s not so much a sign as a… new notice board. But it’s taken 2 years. And it’s got my name on it, which means the only way to get rid of me is burning me off with with a hairdryer. I’ll be checking handbags on the way in.

You drive a hair dryer? Guess the heated seats come for free.

Ah but you can’t change the time of the service either.

What are you thinking?
